GTC* (good till cancelled) and GTD (good till date) allow orders to remain open for greater than one day. You specify how long your order is to remain open if it doesn't execute. Your orders keep working, while you are elsewhere.

* GTC orders are good for market hours only and no actions may be taken on them outside of market hours.
